Hello, my name is Garret. I’m here to hold space for you to expand what is most meaningful to you in your life. Counseling can be a daunting endeavor and often feels overwhelming to navigate. Taking the first step in making an appointment is a part of the journey of doing brave and healing work.

I believe people have innate value and a drive to find a space of belonging with themselves, others, and/ or God. I see the key components of the therapeutic relationship are founded on honesty, trust, and safety. A part of my approach as a counselor is to bring a collaborative and supportive environment to assist individuals, couples, and families to further explore insights into their patterns, identities, core beliefs, and/ or parts of their authentic self.

I received my Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling from Gonzaga University.  I am in process of receiving Gottman Level 1 certification for couples as well as CBT+ and Common Elements Treatment Approach certifications for children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and/ or trauma.  The modalities that are most meaningful for me to consider are rooted in attachment, Emotionally Focused Therapy, existentialism, and person-centered approaches.

Outside of the counseling office, I enjoy live music, playing volleyball, learning all things Fred Rogers, fly fishing, and laughing while watching hilarious TV dramas. I’m from Illinois and am going on my 10thyear of living in Spokane.

I look forward to meeting you and experiencing the great privilege of journeying alongside you.
